That is what we have. 99% of sane people think that is a reasonable non-excessive act without needing more details

I train dogs very well so fortunately this hasn't been a problem. Still, I agree completely.

And I would want more detail than that before making the decision. Your boy could easily come add more detail to this thread, but he hasn't. Until then, it still sounds excessive. But ask me again, perhaps my opinion will change.

Yeah man. This idea that I hate dogs might have some legs based on my belief that pit-bulls should be eradicated, but the reality is I love dogs. Kids could stomp on my Mastiff's nuts and he wouldn't growl or bite because he was trained. That said, not all dogs, regardless of training, have that temperament.
But they are dogs. Plain and simple. If they threaten people, they don't belong in society. ?Unless they are chained to tires of trees protecting my trap house.

Why does he have to provide additional details to you? Your assumption that it was excessive only shows your leanings. It does not discredit his educated and reasoned decision.
When I post about throwing out spoiled milk, I guess I'll have to explain that it smelled bad...but to appease you I'll have to go the extra mile and taste it...then explain the foul taste.

I agree. My Amstaff will let my 3 year old do whatever he wants. I trained him from 7 weeks though.
Advice for novice dog owners. If you have a puppy, treat it like a young child would (but don't hurt it). Mess with it while it sleeps, pull the dog food away while it's eating, mess with it while it's eating, etc. Children do these things and a territorial dog will bite. Messing with them makes them less territorial because they become accustomed to bring interrupted or played with. Just my 2 cents

Put the dog on its back in a completely submissive position. Rub between their paws. You have to completely dominate a dog. My dogs retained their instinct to bark and go nuts when strangers showed up at the door, but when they saw I trusted someone, they trusted them.
And this doesn't just go for large breeds. Too many people have small dogs that they allow to get away with all kinds of shite because they are small.
