The expectorant in Mucinex is really the only ingredient used as an expectorant. Probably just as important is to increase your fluid(water) intake.

I've been using it for the last week because I've been having mucus. It works, but it's been just a temporary relief. The mucus keep coming back.

Get the Mucinex D that is behind the counter. You have to show your drivers license to the pharmacist to get it because methheads were using it to make crank. It has more pop than the shite out on the floor.

Return it for a refund. Before you do that, look at ingredients. Does it have polyethylene glycol? That is the problem. Guiafenesin is the medication that helps clear mucus.
