The Confederate flag that you see today is not the same as the battle flag that was used by the Confederate army. The Confederate battle flag was square, not the elongated flag you see today.
I have no issue with the flag. It's a shame that it has become a symbol of hate.
Back in the days of the Civil War, people were more loyal to their home states and not the US.
My sister is a member of the Daughters of the Confederacy. I guess that makes me a non-paying member.
Our great great great? grandfather was a Confederate POW. He was imprisoned somewhere up north.
Sister does genealogy. Found out the POW wife was from Cuero, TX which is between Houston and Victoria, TX. Wonder where and how they met.
History is fascinating. Too bad it is only written by the side that wins.
There's always 2 sides to every story.

No, it’s a piece of cloth that I have no attachment to. It also helps point out the losers who I don’t want to associate with.

No

A piece of cloth offending me? Sorry not much offends me

I can't say I am offended by it partly because I am not sure what the universal meaning of offended is today.
One thing I will say is the Venn diagram of those that display the Confederate flag (most commonly the rectangular version) and people who are well educated, intelligent, and successful is nearly two separate circles.

Don’t be indirect. If you think they’re white trash, then say it.

I’m not personally offended, but I assume the person displaying one is either a racist or extremely ignorant (most likely both).

I wasn't being indirect. For me displaying the confederate flag produces the rebuttable presumption that one is white trash but I also know white trash that are intelligent, successful, and well educated.

Personally, it does not offend me. I do have appreciation and empathy for those that are offended by it, and I think those that do fly it are pretty ignorant.

Not at all, I have one up in my garage. Personal choice is a beautiful thing, I don’t get offended is someone flys a pride flag or have a Biden sign. Life is too short to be a puss.

Absolutely not, but I have an IQ above room temperature.

Not really. Freedom of speech and liberty is a great thing. I generally have a low opinion of those that choose to parade it around though

You’re punching down.
You’re claiming that being educated makes you good, and you’re implying that you’re educated, while they are not. And worse, instead of just saying it, you’re dancing around it.
We have a different value system, but at no point does someone’s education establish their worth. It doesn’t make anyone better or worse than another man.
