Does anyone use a robotic mower?

I grew up cutting seven acres on the weekend and vowed never to cut grass again. Moving to the burbs next summer and looking for grass cutting options. Someone told me to check out robotic mowers. I am wondering how well they cut and their reliability. Probably going to need one that cuts 1-1.5 acres.

Probably will be at least triple that number where I am moving

Based on my experience with the Roomba, it will probably get stuck under your fence, bushes and chew up at least 4 hoses.

Man, I'll trust a robot to vacuum my floors while I'm not watching, but I don't think I'd take the liability of having spinning blades roaming around my front lawn unattended, no matter how much I hate cutting grass.
On that one, I'm gonna have to pick Manuel labor over robotic labor.

they don't set their price based on the 'hood, Mr. not so subtle, you say you're moving to a swanky neighborhood and don't want to do your own lawn, yet you're too cheap to get a lawn service?

Don’t forget running through dog shite and tracking it everywhere.

1 to 1.5 acres you have to go up in size from $1,599 unit you see.
At first your grass has to be initially cut.
Then each night it will cut a segment where by the end of a few days it mowed.
1) electrical box outside to connect to base station
2) no ditches
3) someone has to put thin line in your yard which is buried. This tells the robot mower where the boundaries are.
Some people I sold them like them.
People with ditches or ruts do not have much success.
Not too much to them a brick motor, blade, and base station.

My neighbor has one. My yard isn’t too terribly big. Probably takes me 30 minutes to do the front and about the same in the back with a self propelled Honda. That robotic mower my neighbor has does okay I suppose. I don’t think his yard looks as good as those around us. I’ve always thought maybe letting the grass getting a little taller makes the roots grow deeper plus the dual mulching blades help naturally fertilize the yard. My neighbor’s mower runs at night on a daily bases. I think these robotic mowers are in their infancy stage but hey it works pretty good for my neighbor because his grass never gets tall.

I don't do yard work. I didn't hit it hard on nights and weekends with engineering books so I could spend my Saturdays in my 30's trying to figure out why my mower won't start.
