Have a few friends that built with them and would not recommend.

Well he died 2 years ago.

Damn had no idea. Last time I saw him was probably 4-5 years ago. Called the wife (no pics) and she confirmed. Knew he always had a bad ticker but apparently not what got him in the end.

It is their last name and they’ve been around for 40 or so years at least.

So it's been a bad name for 40 years then.

I mean if your name was Schitt, would you name your catering company that?

I predict people will say they had good experiences. And i predict people will say they're the worst ever.

Mesothelioma

Old school guy.

You weren’t going to tell him that he couldn’t use his last name on his business.

My parents built a house with Cretin nine years ago and it’s a fine house. About five years ago they merged with Townsend, so I can’t vouch for the company since then. They were competing with each other, so since the merger I guess you can say there is less choice.

It was around that time (the merger) I talked to them about building a home. I already had approval from my bank, but Cretin/Townsend was only willing to work with certain banks, and mine was not one of them. They said it was part of streamlining. I told them to pound sand. That may be something you want to check out beforehand.

2017 was when Eddie merged Cretin Homes with Townsend.

I looked it up on the Secretary of State’s website.

They are going to offer packages from basic to luxury and the price reflects it. I had got a quote from them when I built 8 years ago and the original quote was great until I started adding upgrades. By the time I had what I wanted they were more expensive than the custom builders I had got quotes from.

pretty much this...

if you stay at base level, or close to it, they can be affordable options.... you start adding nice shite, it starts adding up quick, and they can be pricier than more than custom homes... do your homework first

These people are absolute fools. Please do yourself a favor and stay away, don't be fooled by their social media presence.
