Randazzos is from Metairie, and where do you think most other king cakes come from? If you're going to say something dumb, try to at least think it out a little bit beforehand.

I kind of feel the same way. I'll eat a piece if it's around but I prefer the king cakes from Ambrosia in BR even if they aren't traditional.

Plain king cakes ftw.
Screw all those filings. I had a plain cake from Rouses over the weekend that was pretty damn good. Cannata's makes a pretty good one for those in Morgan City/Houma area.

I prefer the more traditional pastry king cakes, like the galette des rois from La Boulangerie
or this one from Maurice's

I'm not a fan of the regular ones with the icing and the slop on the inside

Don’t like them. I’ll do the office one occasionally but always think they suck. Most are essentially dry French bread with crappy icing on top.
