This condition sucks, my face constantly gets red and flaky, I've pretty much had it my whole life. Steroid creams treat it but it never really goes away, there's no cure for it. Just curious if anyone else deals with this or something similar?

Here's the Wikipedia on it.

Clean up your diet. Avoid wheat, sugar, and dairy for a month or two and see if you skin clears up.

After clicking your link yes I do have it. It does suck. I never knew what it was called but I've battled it a few years now. I keep a beard year round, but at times I want to scratch my face off.

I have it in my left ear. Hate it. When I remember, I wash my ear with Head and Shoulders shampoo and it helps, but not for long.

Same. I get it in my ear occasionally. The dermatologist prescribed Otic Oil, which helped a lot, but I hate using that shite. It smells gross.

keep on the Protopic and the hyrdrocortizone, its very manageable, just sucks when it flares up out of nowhere

Yep.

Cortisone cream (the blue one) works like a charm.
I put it on every night before bed and it only flares up when I do some massive sweating.

Looks and sounds a lot like this nasty fungal rash I get on my chest, back, and arms.

Apply coconut oil, extra virgin. Really, really helps

Derm told me to use T-Gel for shampoo. Occasionally rub it onto wherever it breaks out, usually keeps it at bay for me.

One of my clietns has it bad and it cleared up when he changed his diet. Avoid wheat products, refined sugars, pasta, white rice, & dairy.

Basically he just eats fish, chicken, fruits, vegetables now.

Go to dermatologist and get prescription anti fungal cream. will be gone in a week, keep handy for small breakouts later, attack aggressively. Cured.

Like others have said, try eating clean for a while and see if that improves the situation. Juice for a couple of weeks and I bet you skin will greatly improve. If you feed the body what it needs, it tends to take care of and heal itself.

Dealt with sehborrheic keratosis at one point and it made me think considerably more about protection while in the sun which I already did to begin with.

Sorry, not trying to hijack the thread...not exactly the same topic

Sounds similar to psoriasis. Have you tried tea tree oil? Banana peels rubbed on your skin are supposed to work really well, if you want to try something other than medicines.

I take showers.

Seriously, is it stress triggered? I used to suffer from it until my doctor said "Relax and wash your face with soap. Every day."

Fluonicide topical solution (prescription) will knock it out pretty good.

Stress can definitely impact flare-ups
