Dude come on...
You people defending BR is so sad. Just stop. It sucks and 8 out of 10 people would agree to that.

I lived there from 18-27. Moved to Metairie after, and it is 10x better. BR is just....depressing

I really don’t think it’s that bad, that’s MY opinion and I’m entitled to it. Maybe it’s just my love for LSU that keeps me attached to this place.

Hated BR so much we packed our bags and moved to the island side of false River a year and a half ago.
No traffic, no inner city crime, no road noise.
Waking up every day to the sounds of boats and birds, hearing nothing but crickets and frogs in the evening.
Living on the water is the best medicine anyone could ever ask for.

You must be high...

Nine months out of the year, you always have an interesting sporting event on the week’s schedule
You need to seriously get out and experience other states and cities if you think a sporting event should be the highlight of someone's weekend.

Are we still talking about Baton Rouge? I can think of five, and that is me being kind.

Sprinkle a little theatre and comedy downtown,
What?
I don't love to hate on Baton Rouge - but it is pretty much a college town with not much going on. To paint it as anything else is just being blissfully ignorant.
But hey, if you feel that way about BR more power to you, continue living there happily by all means.

Born and raised in BR. There ain't shite to do. If there is, people have been keeping it secret.

To do anything fun and interesting in Baton Rouge, you have to leave Baton Rouge.

If you think there's nothing going on in Baton Rouge, you're boring.

Baton Rouge is a lot like purgatory.
Yep
I live in Nashville and its fantastic.
However, we have a 1 month old and no family up here. Not to mention we could get a much nicer house with more land in Baton Rouge.
I'm not sure how long we will hold out before moving back or somewhere closer.

I said there is *not much* going on, not nothing. I stand by my statement having lived in BR for 10+ years (recently).
Living in NYC for the past 12+ years - sure if you come in town for a short weekend, you can fill it up quickly. Living in BR full time, week after week - you will find yourself running out of things to do or quickly repeating the few things you do find fun.
And, you're boring.

I was born and raised in Red Stick. My parents still live there. I moved away for college, returned for graduate school, and left again for a job opportunity back in Austin. My fiancé is from NOLA and her family is still there. We've tossed around the idea of returning home to Louisiana after the wedding as both sets of parents are getting up in age.

And you still think there's shite to do in BR? Sure, you can go for a weekend and have a great time, but living there is an entirely different story. And bringing up that the Saints "play only 90 miles away" is disenginous, that 90 miles is a 4 hour commute.

I’ve been to 31 of the 50 states.
Ranked ahead of Baton Rouge on the livability scale are cities like New Orleans, Shreveport, Memphis, Jackson, Hattiesburg, El Dorado, Alexandria, Odessa, Hammond and even Beaumont.
I’m sorry, but Baton Rouge fights it out in the bottom 5 with Detroit, Newark, Trenton and Farmington.
You Baton Rouge homers really struggle with reality.

What the frick?
I live in Nashville and have unlimited shite to do, but nothing is more fun than a big LSU football game weekend.
You must suck.

Ever think maybe you're the boring one that doesn't need stimulation therefore you don't find a boring place boring?
