Should've gone to the Dr boss. They would've been able to rule out things for you. I did for the first one at 24, and second one at 27.
Get an appt at a neurologist, and tell them you've been sleeping fine, because it's their go-to diagnosis for every seizure they can't solve immediately. At the least, schedule an EEG and blood work
Eta: A good PCP will be able to get you an appointment with a neurologist quickly. Otherwise, you're looking at around 3+ months. They're all that way

Follow up with a neurologist

no explainable drug withdrawal
No drug use withdrawal whatsoever.
But your refusal to go to a doctor now has your employer wondering about this.
Go to a doctor now. The further away you are from the episode, the harder it may be, depending on the cause, to identify the problem until it happens again.
Good luck baw.

Since we’re having this discussion, can someone recommend a good neurologist in New Orleans?

fricking this.
I opened this thread expecting to see whether the op could take the promethylproxopine that his doctor gave him without eating breakfast.
Wtf, baw. Get yo arse to the doctor.

First off, how do you know that you had a seizure? Because the neurologist will want to be convinced it was a seizure.
After you confirm that -
Don’t see your primary care MD.
Don’t go to the Emergency room.
But do make an initial appointment with a neurologist to get this worked up. It will take a few months but you will be glad you did.
And if the neurologist determines it was a seizure, hopefully it's not epileptic... Have to do a sleep study to determine that probably. You may be recommended to see a cardiologist as it could be heart related. Could be something like vasovagal syncope, which is treatable with meds and in the long run without meds.
Edit....the reason I mention this is because I see a lot of people saying neurologist, which is the best place to start....but it could be so many different things is the point, and it's absolutely nothing to mess around with/ignore.

I do acknowledge that I miss meals frequently and sometimes don't hydrate as well as I should given my activity level but I've never encountered this before.
Welp. Sounds like BrainAids.

Go to a doctor after a first seizure to make sure everything's okay. Seriously.
My son has had a few seizures due to misfirings in one of his lobes. He's on anti-seizure meds now.
But the first thing they checked was making sure there were no brain abnormalities. Get a scan.
I really am not trying to frighten you here, but you shouldn't take chances.

Dont guess, go to the Dr baw. had a coworker had a seizure and it turned out he had a condition where he now has to take meds daily to prevent them. Sometimes its not so cut n dry. You dont want another one while doing 70 down the interstate ...
Exactly.

Dr. Piotr Olejniczak. He's the director of LSU Epilepsy Center

but after trying a few different meds have been able to keep the seizures under control using Keppra.
My son is on 5 Keppra per day. But he hasn't had an episode in a few years.
He missed one day dosage and had a seizure playing basketball in our driveway. I'm sure you know not to skip doses as that can trigger a seizure.

Bro you better go to the freaking Dr, you could have adult onset epilepsy, do you want to have the next one while driving ?
Epilepsy and seizures can develop in any person at any age. 1 in 26 people will develop epilepsy in their lifetime. Factors such as other health conditions, age, and race may make developing epilepsy and seizures more likely.
Get yo arse to the dr

the entire OP is useless. Instead of pointless details, give a description of what you are calling a seizure. Also tell if you've had many hits to the head, fell and banged your head, any possible times you've knocked your head such as basketball, football, wrestling.
they can scan you for tumors/growths, but other than that, neurologists are pretty useless and frustrating. It's hard to cause seizure on demand like they try. Here, stay up all night and hope and pray that causes a seizure while we test you.

Seizures are a symptom of something else. Seizures themselves aren't dangerous. The danger comes from falling, accidents while driving, or lack of breathing during longer lasting seizures. It's just a brain reset.
I saw my son only have one seizure out and it wasn't a bad one.
He had one in the kitchen one day. My wife was with him. You can kinda tell when he's about to have one. He was trying to cook something in the oven and kept asking weird questions about the oven knobs. He hit the floor and stopped breathing. My wife said he turned completely gray in the face.
She will always have that image in her head. Glad I didn't see it. That's what nightmares are made of.
