I, like most of you, got a script in college to help my lazy arse get shite done. Now that I'm in the working world I wonder if I should continue to use it or just go the tried and true 3 cups of coffee method.

What say you?

Congrats on having to use drugs to function like a normal hard-working human being.

I'm gonna tell you a secret. You can have both and you'll be just fine.

Yet another reason why your generation sucks and is doomed to fail at life.

Renew your prescription. You'll need it to keep up with your elders.

I'm not a medical doctor, but I am a biochemist who specializes in pharmaceuticals,so take this fwiw.

The evidence isn't in from longterm studies, but I'd suspect the same side-effects as from any Dopeamine releasing phenethylamine amphetamine.

Which is?

I know someone who has been on it for 15+ years and he seems to have some side effects.

I used it from time to time in school when I really needed to get some work done, but I can't imagine being on that shite all the time.

It turns me into a freakin weirdo.

your body will be tolerant/dependent on it, so getting off it would induce withdrawals... you can find much info on Adderall withdrawals all over the internet....

Searching the net will require more concentration I don't have.

I forgot what I'm complaining about. Vyvanse wore off hours ago, I'm stoned, drunk, and getting sleepy from the 2mg Xanax I just took.

I love the stuff personally. I can focus great, and it puts me in an awesome mood. But I only take it occasionally.

If you're disciplined you can keep at a low dose and not build too much tolerance. I wouldn't think 5 or 10 mg a day will hurt you

I would encourage you to try to do without. Practically no drug is designed to be totally safe and benign for your entire life. Much of the drug's effects are mild, but many people function quite differently (from a personality standpoint) on it. This may be undesirable to you, in which case coming off may be a good thing for you. As far as withdrawals are concerned, talk with your doc who is prescribing it before you come off. In all likelihood, you could probably stop it with little/no effects, but not knowing what dose you're on or you at all, it's always better to talk to a professional who knows you about starting or stopping medicine.

This

My parents generation (baby boomers) are probably the countries worst, while their parents is probably the nations best. It's almost like they want to battle each other to see who can be the biggest group of frick ups.

Meanwhile, Generation X is left to pick up all the fricked up devastation from our parents and hope our hard work is not for naught.

Gen X remembers whats it was like when there winners and losers, people got offended and that shite was okay and you just dealt with it, we played outside all day, our teachers didn't send home daily report cards and we just figured it the frick out BUT we know how to turn on and update an iPad, we understand how to buy apps rom the app store and know the difference between RAM, ROM and Rum.
