I don't do twitter or Facebook.... I think both are pretty useless.....

I use twitter to get news, especially sports related news. And there are some people I communicate with, mainly about sports. You can follow reporters, but you can also just follow the news companies. I follow the local (baton rouge) news (wafb, wbrz, the advocate, etc) and I follow USA today, AP. I find it to be useful and I like the fact it has character limitations because it doesn't allow it to be life FB, where people will get on it and tell the world their problems.

And it depends on the news you want. NBA news, follow some NBA reporters. National news? Follow some news services or individual reporters. Local news? Follow the local news station.

I use twitter for news and the sports teams I follow, national sports writers for the various sports I enjoy and I follow a few other things I'm interested in.
I don't tweet often, and when I do it's usually family stuff or sports-related.
There is a TON of negativity and nastiness on twitter and a lot of social media it seems.
