Do you use Ms for all women or do you use Mrs and Miss also?

I use Ms exclusively. It seems backwards in 2018 to make reference to someone’s marital status when addressing them, what is the point? The world of business communications seems to have by and large adopted Ms exclusively as well, it seems to be more professional.

Ms is used when you don’t know their correct title.

I use Mrs, if I know they go by their married name.

Even if you know the marital status does it not seem odd to make reference to that when addressing someone? And why isn’t the same distinction made for married males?

Why don't you tear down those walls and come up with more pronouns for us? It's what the world really needs.

I use Ms. because it will cover all three.

because single males aren't damaged goods like women so we don't need to single them out.

Why would using the correct titles seem odd?

Me, too. It’s the 21st century thing to do.

Way to assume their gender

It’s sexist that y’all have different terms for married women. What if she’s a lesbo?
