Good point. I started counting with 11. But Apollo 8 orbited the moon. So some of the idiot talking points would apply to that mission as well, like the Van Allen belts.

Nope, there is equipment there, went without people, we had less computer power than in my cell phone. The technology was still from the 50's. Why hasn't anyone gone back, we never leave earth's orbit....

But what I don't understand is why we haven't been back. It seems like it would be much easier with the advances in technology.

We've already been there 6 times. If there's truly nothing of significance there why waste all that time and money to go back when that can go to the goal of reaching Mars?

This wouldn't be a feasible conspiracy theory. So many people were directly involved, there'd be no way it'd stay secret. The timing was suspect (cold war), but I assume that's why so many people want to believe it was faked.
