Better than Fuzzy Zoeller’s legacy.

You really think that is his biggest legacy? I’d say it’s about 97th, at best. Behind the hospital he built and 95 professional wins.

The drink is damn good, but you can't buy the premixed ones. Those all taste like garbage, the closest one is the Gold peak tea+lemonade in the bottle.
The cans with his face on it :yuck:

Dude. You’re backwards. You think he would have a drink named after him if he hadn’t been a legend in sports?

I think this is a story about LINK
With that, a mixed drink was named and a legendary golfer extended his influence beyond the course. Ten years ago, the rights to the drink were sold to AriZona Beverage Co. Sales exceeded $100 million in 2010.
That easy access must come as a relief to Palmer. The 83-year-old told filmmaker Bryan Gordon that ordering his namesake drink used to be embarrassing. He would describe how to make it rather than ordering it by name. At some point, he learned to live with it.

He was the “King” of golf, the pros are making their money off of his legacy....

considering the rampant inflation of golf purses post-Tiger, this isn’t really true anymore. the 80’s/early 90’s guys benefitted most from Arnie

Does it bother you that your biggest legacy is the pure ignorance you demonstrated when you started this thread?

Am I jealous that Arnie has an awesome drink he will be known for forever
Absolutely

"bothered", and no, he took great pride in his drink. But he was a damn good golfer, one of the all time greats, the King.

No sir....that drink will be recognizable by a heck of a lot more folks than his golf record. Don't get me wrong, he was one hell of a golfer....but only golf fans know his golf status but everyone knows the drink named after him.

Can you imagine if his comments about the 1998 Masters Champions dinner happened now?

No more than it bothers this guy:
Baby Ruth for the win. (If that is him)

Yeah, a lot more people know the drink than what he did in golf. I have no idea what he did for golf and don’t really give a shite, watching golf is boring as shite. I know the drink though. It will just go more heavy towards the drink as more people that actually saw him play die off.

Not officially named after him, official story is it is named after Grover Cleveland’s daughter. Probably was named after him though, but they didn’t want to pay him royalties. They won in court though that it wasn’t named after him.

I was working at a resort years ago and Arnold was staying there for a week. Lots of Europeans work there and they only knew of the name because of the drink. They were unaware of his golfing legacy.
I said hi Mr Palmer one time and he asked if I liked a golf ball. He reached into one pocket and grabbed a ball and the other pocket and grabbed a sharpie. In one fast swoop he ran the sharpie over the golf ball. I didn’t expect the signature to be legible, but to my surprise you can make out ever letter in his name.
It was strange because I would never ask someone for their autograph or for them to sign something for me, but in the moment of the offer sure was my only instinctive response.
We didn’t interact much that week, but he was very nice.
