Ok Mr Redundant, I don’t dislike it, I just find it entertaining. I can make a better argument against God than the posters here, yet I still know he exists!. Good luck with future internet message board life

Your memory is better than your arguments but you are still very wrong

As a matter of fact, up until maybe this week I’ve never argued about any of this on here. Don’t plan to much at all in the future. Just kind of an every now and then thing Flu keeps me bored in bed

I’ve been sick with nothing better to do. I’ll be honest, I don’t care if people are atheists or not, I should care, but it’s not my business, unless one wants to discuss it in real life, then I take it seriously. Hard to be serious on a sports message board. I don’t hate anyone on here, I just wanted to pop in and get a laugh. Hope everyone has a Happy New Year. I’ll wait a couple years before popping up again to argue about religion

Eta: Although I really never argued about anything

but you’re assuming that you know why he did so. It was more likely political and power to please the Jews (acts 12:3) than ideological, but both are assumptions, and a big jump in calling him a martyr.

It makes no difference to me if they were martyrs or not, I don’t ever see anyone saying that they are deliberately lying. But you are incorrect by saying we have biblical and extra biblical proof all of them were martyred.

You can see at 16:30 Dr Sean McDowell defended his book ‘The Fate of the Apostles’ against atheist YouTuber Paulogia on Justin Brierleys Christian show Unbelievable, And then he visited Capturing Christianity to talk about it. And then Cross Examined with Frank Turek. Dr McDowell concede that Paulogia is right that we have two definitely’s, and 2 maybes.

I’m brainwashed because I refuse to listen to inane unproven ideas that all the sheep congregate to in stating God is loving? Yet not one ounce of proof to that in existence. Because I can actually sit down and question all the bullshite ppl spew about their Christianity sprew with only hearing 3 words: “Don’t question it just believe.”

But it’s ok to lie, deceit, seven deadly sins. Cause you don’t go to hell for those correct? Correct? You see? You want to follow it but only the 10 commandments are the ultimate to follow. Anything is overlooked. But let me guess? Your God sends you to hell for such things right? Manipulating your god for your benefit. Well manipulate him to heal the earth. He only answers your prayers. No one else’s. Certainly not children kidnapped for sex trafficking, starving. Or perhaps an entire family killed by a drunk driver? I guess It was their time right? Gods time? You have no leg to stand on other than you say you believe. That is it. No concrete evidence at all.

And the Bible that YOU know? Is fictional. Only 43 pages of the original was written. You guess what? god was FOR justice and retribution. But some dumbass it dumbasses rewrote it to manipulate the masses so he was more loving and merciful. God doesn’t give a frick about you me or the man on the moon. When you get that through your head? You can rest assured heaven and hell are here on Earth

Trying to convince an atheist that God exists is like trying to convince a they/them that there are only two genders- pointless, and a waste of time, other than entertainment value, and reinforcement of our belief (which is good practice). It’s not the job of a believer to change the heart and mind of an unbeliever- that honor belongs solely to God, and is doled out at His discretion, and according to His perfect will. Our job is to present the gospel of Jesus Christ (which has been done, and you have flippantly rejected). The evidence is all around you. But, all evidence requires interpretation. And, interpretation is inevitably, unmistakably, and without fail- decided by our presuppositional bias.

My friend, please don’t mistake my bluntness for arrogance or disdain. If you have legitimate concerns, and you are sincerely interested in truth- then I would like nothing more than to be of service to God in your journey home. If you’re just looking for an argument, I’ll oblige as much as I can.

Listen you were told this and you just follow it. I get it. I grew yo at a young age not following crowds. It was always stupid to me to do so

Well, you’re half right- which is still wrong. I was taught this at a young age- and I rejected it. Then, at around 12-13, I accepted it. It was life changing- until around 17-18. I walked away from it again. For over 20 years- without regret (at the time- I sure regret it now). Long story (that I’d be happy to share in person) short- He began to make it more difficult for me to “kick against the goads” and I began to question my doubts. The more I searched, the more convinced I became. There are absolutely satisfying answers (any many not so satisfying answers) to questions that have been asked for over 2000 years. The number one thing that I have learned is that belief is inseparable from desire. We all believe what we want to believe. The only real mystery (to me- currently) is why we desire what we desire- and whether or not it is within our own capacity to control.

No matter how convoluted people describe their spiritual journey, they almost always circle back to the predominant religion of their family or culture.

You don’t see a lot of Caucasians in Alabama ditch Christianity to become Hindu.

I have been to dozens of countries around the world. Religion is a cultural thing not much different from the clothes we wear, the foods we eat, the languages we speak, and the sports we follow. You see this everywhere.

That’s the point…Jesus didn’t die again…He died once for all and is alive and well at the right hand of power. The resurrection of Christ is absolutely fundamental to the Christian faith.

Your response doesn’t surprise me as a Christian. You’re blind to truth. You don’t understand the things of God. They are foolishness to you. Everything you try to argue about has answers. For example, the reason for Christ’s death was to pay the sin debt that man is incapable of paying. It took the perfect sacrifice. Christ was that perfect sacrifice. And salvation comes by faith alone in Him and His work at the cross and His bodily resurrection. At salvation, the repentant, believing sinner is imputed with Christ’s righteousness. That is the marvelous truth of the doctrine of the substitutionary atonement of Christ. Anyway, it use to confuse me also but as I’ve studied and grown in my faith, I have a much clearer understanding of it. Anyway, I hope one day you too will believe.

So is your belief in God a choice? Or did God choose you to believe, like it sounds in the quote?

I can’t choose to believe in God anymore than you can not believe in him, or you believe in a different God.

Belief is more about a passive response than an active choice.

Man…your god is impotent…no wonder you believe the way you do. My God is all powerful, knowing, present and sovereign. My God humbled Himself, stepped off His throne in glory, veiled Himself in human flesh, died the death we deserve so that we can live the life only He deserves…that’s my God. That’s the Christian God.

The belief piece is only part of it. Its ultimately about faith. Faith strengthens belief.

You're right in that there isn't an on/off switch for belief. But faith starts as an idea that there is more to existence than just living and dying, and that there is something after that existence as well, and it evolves from there. It wouldn't be called faith if we knew for sure.
