Of course they don’t. It’s demand and supply.

Forbes just released the list of top 10 earnings of athletes over the decade:

10. Lewis Hamilton: $400 Million

9. Kevin Durant: $425 Million

8. Manny Pacquiao: $435 Million

7. Phil Mickelson: $480 Million

6. Tiger Woods: $615 Million

5. Roger Federer: $640 Million

4. LeBron James: $680 Million

3. Lionel Messi: $750 Million

2. Cristiano Ronaldo: $800 Million

1. Floyd Mayweather: $915 Million

Anybody is worth what someone is willing to pay if they produce what is expected and it isn't illegal.

I may think it is too much without thinking but it isn't my money

Considering the fact that he just runs around the ring, he’s way overpaid

I love boxing but he's the most boring big time fighter I've ever watched.

No. You’re paid based on the money you bring in. Top athletes bring in a lot of money.

Floyd should be arrested for how much money he swindled out of people to buy his big fights on pay per view. A couple of jabs and the rest of the time he runs around the ring. Good thing I illegally streamed his Pacquiao and McGregor fights.

Pac Man is much more fun to watch. Dude is lightning fast and can pack a punch.

he’s made $900 million of that from people hoping to see him KTFO and it hasn’t happened yet

I watched it on Periscope where people were basically holding their phones at their TVs. They would take them down every 10-15 minutes but 5 more would pop up in their place.

The money is being made by fans/tickets/tv etc. the money is there. Where should it go? Why not give the money to the athletes? It’s not like someone is printing money and giving it to Athletes....the money is coming in and has to go somewhere.

Yes, you can lower ticket prices, but supply and demand, why would you?

Old school Tyson fights were the best. We'd always get the pay per view and have tons of people over at the house.

Crazy to think that the guys in team sports have an owner that has probably brought in more than their 10 year earnings during the same period.

Steve Balmer is worth 57 billion dollars. He can pay the player's salaries on a few months of his Microsoft dividends.

Yes. Everyone that gets paid more than me gets paid too much. Whoever gets paid less than me deserves it.

I don't, but I also think we probably need a tax increase at that income level.

To be fair, I think we need what amounts to a tax increase at the lower income levels as well. No one should pay negative income tax.

He's the only one that's overpaid because he seems to hate this country and the fundamental American values/Capitalism that pays him so well. He should donate 95% of it to the DNC.
