All you ever wanted to know from intellectually honest scientists who look at evolving nutritional data
My 2cents = timing is not that critical
Don't tell the mouth breathers that data supports that it is also a nootropic and may prevent cognitive decline
Not the best reference, but it was the quickest one I could pull up. Other references are from pay journals.
Another good anti-broscience source for health/nutrition info:
Now that I showed you where to fish, catch your own fricking fish.....

Makes no difference when you take it. You can take it when u wake up, when u go to bed, before a workout, whenever.
Another note, as general rule, take Individual supplements. Not some concoction of bullshite with a fancy label on the bottle like u clowns that take all these pre workouts with a million different things in it. Look at your product, if it has the words "proprietary blend" written on it, you can bet your arse that it doesn't have enough of whatever's in it to do much.
And lol @ the "1998 called" comment. It's about the only supp that's been around that long and has stood the test of time

The only things my people take is 1st step, some bcaas, glutamine, CLA if they're trying to lose, Creatine if they're trying to gain (sometimes they take both) and that's about it. The diet & the training take care of the rest
Now I got a few (not the athletes)taking the "real" stuff, but it's their choice & its Dr prescribed

I used to take it.
It isn't good long term. Not really supposed to drink alcohol when you're taking either.

Neither. It's not necessary.

Bro science. There have been a lot of studies done on creatine. I'm going to put some creatine in my son's milk bottle.

You should take it during a workout baw. The body uses creatine first for short term energy when atp is depleted
