We’ve usually been able to share the time between mom and wife and when not, it luckily wasn’t a huge deal to split or figure something else out.

Haven’t spoken to or heard from my mom in decades so that side is easy. Spent Sat with my wife prepping a lunch for her mom. Sun we had lunch at her parents house. They’re great in laws. Came home to watch the game with my wife. Except for losing the game, it was a great day.

ETA- asked my MIL to pick up flowers for my wife so it would be a surprise…it worked.

When the kids were little, it was the wife’s day and mom got a phone call. Now that the kids and mom are older, wife gets a gift, but the day is for my mother.

Took my wife and kids to breakfast, then went to my brothers house for a fish fry to celebrate all the moms in my family.

These threads always make me so thankful for my family.

/Father’s Day,

Growing up, my mom used to ask my daddy every year what he wanted for father's day.. He would always say "to be left alone". Then my mom would insist we go out to eat somewhere.. And then when she wasn't around he would say to me "even on fathers day she insist we go where she wants to go. I just want to be left alone in my god damn shop all day".

Maybe it’s because she’s the most important mother in your life and you don’t do anything for her?
