Looks like I'm not the only one:

https://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=123537011

And as someone in that thread said, it only happens when it's humid outside.

Some other research seems to indicate it's something in the air called "geosmin" that human noses are very sensitive to.

I've never smelled it on myself but I know what you're talking about, kids usually smell like that after they've came in from outside playing.

Similar to when a dog goes out for a few minutes and comes back in stinking.

Don't live in Louisiana so this is not a concern.

everyone does. It is a combo of sweat and a grass type smell.

Found a decently long topic about the here:

https://i.fluther.com/42819/whats-with-that-outside-smell-that-people-get-when-theyve-been/

But it can't be sweat because it happens even when you don't sweat and are only outside for a few minutes.

It's also weird that many people seem to not be able to smell it at all even when others can smell it on them.

Apparently it happens to everyone but only some people can smell it.

Weird.

Do you live in Baton Rouge or Lake Charles?

If so, there's your answer

I know exactly what smell you are talking about, and I hate it.

Good to know I'm not the only one here.

It's strange that so few here seem to know what I'm talking about.

I'm not fat and it's not a body odor smell. It's like there is something in the air that gets on you as it happens even if you just took a shower.

I agree..just a few minutes outside will cause you to "smell like a puppy dog", as my wife says!

Not at all. It's not a smell coming from me.

It's a smell that gets ON me like it's something in the air.

I've found just taking a laundry dryer sheet and rubbing it on your clothing helps!

I know exactly what you are talking about.

We call it "smelling like a billy goat" in my house.

Yeah, my mom always called the smell "recess" for this reason.

I use this stuff on my dogs, it helps with the smell. Too bad you can't spray it on humans who don't know they stink.

I think it smells like hay bales. I really notice the smell on my son when he's been playing outside. I like the smell.
