Back. When you are being chauffeured around town are you suppose to sit in the front? No! And pay the exta 3.50 and get Uber black.

Uber. Some dude in a t shirt and flip flops runs you to your destination in his dirty Corolla.
Uber Black. Guy in slacks and a collared shirt picks you up in a Suburban or Town Car, clean and usually has a bottled water or mints for you and drops you at your destination in style. Worth the upcharge IMO. When I was in Baltimore, the Uber Black was more like a car service. Drivers were in suits, held the door for you and had water and snacks in the back seat.

I use to get in the front. Didn't want to look like some elitist. Most drivers were fine with it.
Then I started noticing that a couple of Uber drivers giving me 3 or 4 star ratings. I wasn't drunk and thought I was being friendly. Figured out those two didn't like me jumping in the front.
On a business trip in Phoenix, I started getting in the front and the Uber driver asked me to sit in the back. Had an uncomfortable 30 minute ride to my destination. Dude never talked.
So now I'm playing it safe and getting in the back. Plus I might start wearing pants.
