Yes. I have less respect for people who don't use it.

I make sure I use every single hour of PTO. There is none left over for a roll over.

I'm able to carry over 240 hours to the next year. I start planning in September what days I'm taking off for the remainder of the year to ensure I don't have a singel hour over the 240.

I work because I have to, not because I want to.

Do you also take some of your wages and throw them out the window on the drive home?

I think this is key.. I think it gets missed a lot in retirement debates and threads.. im not necessarily just working towards a day when I can retire, and I dont think retirement is the 'end all be all'.. I also realize many people feel like they "need" to work in order to have purpose or whatever.. I think that the whole key, at least for me, is to get to the point where I am working because I want to, not because I have to .

Guy at my office took today off because his PTO balance is about to reach the cap. My PTO balance stays at the cap because I show up to work.

That’s shite women do. What’s he going to do, sit at home, eat bon bons, and watch General Hospital?

My company requires you to take PTO if you exceed your PTO cap.

I think people who do not use PTO are idiots

But I do hate when people take it last minute for hangovers when we now have to pick up your slack unexpectedly

No there aren't. I'm a governmental auditor and an expert in the field. It's a fantastic job. You just don't understand governmental accounting, so you think it sucks. I'm sorry you're not smart enough to grasp fund accounting.

Unfortunately for you, you started this thread. You are now the dude who thinks he shouldn't take PTO while also claiming someone other than him works for a bad firm.
