Firm hand (not crushing), and good eye contact. Golden key to good, lasting impressions made.

He always told me after a while, i could work on points for style, like the club tie, and the firm handshake, a certain look in the eye and an easy smile. I have to be trusted by the people that I lie to, so that when they turn their backs on me, i'll get the chance to put the knife in.

I've shaken hands like an adult for as long as I've been shaking hands. My son has a coach that is late 20s, and he still does the "soul brother" thing - the finger clench/hand over hand with interlocking thumbs/pull in for chest bump thing. I can't believe any adult actually does this. It's awkward as frick, because he knows I shake like an adult, so sometimes he goes for the real man shake while others he goes for the hip-hop shake. We never seem to meet up on the same shake. If you're over 18, shake like a man, damnit.

Maybe two or three, my paw paw taught me to be slightly firmer than the other person. I shake every woman's hand by clapping the fingers. Men get their hands shaken with a light pressure.

May God have mercy on your soul if you purposely grab the front of my hand and squeeze my fingers tightly.

We will shake hands again, and you will understand the grip strength of a 300+ lb guy who still plays on the monkey bars with his nieces and nephews.

Rappers will try to buy your hand by the time I'm done.

Was taught at young age... but damn some dudes are agressive and get your hand before your ready, making for an awkward hand shake. I end up walking away thinking about how much of a bitch handshake I just gave.

Up, Down, separate.

Also when being greeted. If they say "Hello", they mean "Hello". If they say, "How are you?", they mean , "Hello". If they say "What's up?", that is someone you should not be conversing with.

i was 15/16 when some dude at the golf course I caddied at told me a story that was about 3 holes long. And it was all about properly shaking another mans hand. The only thing I took away from the story was to shake a mans hand while looking them in the eyes. I also told my caddie master that I never want to caddie for that guy again.
