For typical passenger cars I go Japanese. The only american cars I really desire or drive are the high end american cars or work horse pickups.

So far the most reliable car I've owned is a 1992 Lexus LS400. Damn thing has 360k miles on it and keeps on going. All the electronic gadgets even still work.

Depends entirely on what I'm looking for.

Full sized truck- Chevy, Toyota, or Ford
Full sized SUV - Chevy or Toyota
Mid sized SUV - Toyota
Mid sized Truck - Chevy or Toyota
Crossover - Honda or Acura
Full sized car - Chevy or Buick
Mid sized car - Toyota or Honda
Compact/subcompact car - Chevy, Toyota, or Honda
Higher end car - Mercedes-Benz or Cadillac

"American" made vehicles are made in Mexico. Forgeign made vehicles are more likely made in the USA.

Buy away brother, but when you need work done after the warranty is up prepare to pay no less than 2k for minor work...

BMW in particular has turned into a "lease it, but never buy it" car.
