Agree. Men and women are not comparable, physically. My legs may be stronger than some guys, but men naturally have a hell of a lot more upper body strength.

I appreciate that I might look like I’d be hard to take in a fight, since it makes me feel like less of a target for mugging or abduction or whatever, but it’s a sham.

How useful is karate in an actual fight? Serious question. I can’t recall anyone actually using it in a fight.

idk man

I'm 175 lbs and I'm pretty sure if Rhonda Rousey connected on a right hook to my jaw, it might be over for cas4t

When I trained in Jiu Jitsu there were several women at the gym I went to who were very good. Some of them could beat me by points and occasionally catch me in a mistake and submit me.

But even when I was a white belt, and was going against a female purple belt, and I couldn't out jiu jitsu them, i could muscle myself out of the bad positions easily and get myself into a dominant position. I couldn't do that with a similarly sized man. I would have to use technique, and leverage, and hope they messed up. But even a much bigger, much better trained woman... it was easy. In a real fight I could have destroyed these women, and they were well trained and much better at a practical fighting skill than I was. Now that said, I tried not to rely on strength, so I could get better at jiu jitsu.

So to answer your question no.

I went to school with a couple of these hoodrats, and saw them try to give a man the business for whatever reason. Only time it worked out was when the guy didn't want to fight back, because he didn't want to hit a chick. But when they did....hoodrat learned a lesson. They were always trying to fricking fight someone, I never quite understood it.

If you are talking about taekwando then not very useful from what I have been told. Have a friend who became a whatever degree blackbelt in it when he was a kid. Said all it really taught him was discipline as an activity because you have to listen to your superiors and such but not so much with actual fighting. Other martial arts like bjj, krav maga, or kickboxing would probably be more useful in an actual fight. From my research at least. I'm not an expert.

Like i said earlier, there are high school kids from just Louisiana every year that will lift more than the world record holder of all time for women. Think about that. tons of 17-18 year old kids in this country are stronger than the strongest woman ever.

You know the world record for the 100m dash by a woman is 10.49s and is 30 years old. The state champ from LA ran a 10.44 last year. As a sophomore 15 years ago, Trindon Holiday ran a 10.51.

Not sure if some of you are aware, but men don't hit their peak when they are 18, yet the peak women of all time at a given physical activity isn't any better than the best 17 and 18 year olds throughout the US.

The only one I can think of is possibly my personal trainer. I'd give it a 50/50, but she's fricking ripped.
