My parents have bought hoodies for me since the 60's. We called them hooded sweatshirts when I was growing up. I've got two or three LSU ones. Most of mine are the pullover ones. Got one from Quebec when my parents visited up there a couple of years ago. What's wrong with them?

I think a lot of kids wear them because you can play football, basketball, baseball or just about any other sport in them when it's cold. Guess you could wear one to band practice too.

They cover your ears, and most of your face if you tighten up the hood. Just like with kids playing sports, they can be worn to work in.

Yes and when I get older, I'll be 80 wearing shorts and a hoodie. Comfy as hell and will never wear old people clothes when I get to that age.
