Do you “over-inflate” your tires by a few psi?

For instance, if the recommended cold tire psi for tires on your car/truck/suv is 32psi, do you go up to 34-35psi or do you stick perfectly to the recommendation?

The metric system is your friend.

Embrace it.

You work for the government, son?

I refuse to answer your personal questions.

Stick to recs. Was always told overinflation, particularly in the summer, can cause issues on tire wear on the center tread.

I do because I’m a badass. My father in law nearly had a heart attack watching me do this very thing last week

Yes. I put 40 in my tires that ask for 35-38.

Yes. Will make your car a little tighter with understeer in cornering situations, but the fuel economy benefits are worth it

I tend to inflate to the tire’s spec, not the vehicle’s. If I notice uneven wear across the center tread, I’ll back off a few psi.

Works for a drag dire but reduces traction (except in snow) on a modern road tire on asphalt/concrete.

Proper inflation is the only correct answer for 99% of average users with road tires. Over or under inflation reduces the contact patch and causes poor tire wear.

Under inflate to about 18psi to keep from feeling floaty.

As does low psi causes poor mpg, it also seems too high psi causes tires to bounce more / give bumpier ride on crappy roads and therefore reduce mpg...
