On the interstate I am usually driving 80+, I don't mind getting over and allowing a car to pass, that's how it should be.

But yesterday, I was doing 60 in a 50, non pass roads..and some high school dude in a jacked up truck wants to ride my arse going into a 45 so just to piss him off I do 35.

It's defensive driving. Some people do that to keep maniacs like you that speed & probably run red lights from T-boning them.

I drive from Mississippi to Baton Rouge everyday down plank rd. I don't drive super fast just reasonable, 60-65. Have to pass on average about 14 cars a day. It drives me insane. Half the people on the road should not have a drivers license.

One time, I was going just under 60 in a 55.

Some bitch tailgated me for about five or six miles.

In a long passing zone, I just took my foot off the accelerator.

Finally, I came to a complete stop in the road.

So did the tailgater.

After sitting there for about 20 seconds, he/she goosed it and went on down the road (what they should have done several miles back).

Screw 'em.

I'm not talking about neighborhoods with a 25mph limit.

If you're on the interstate where the speed limit is 65, you're really gonna tell me 55 is faster than 75?

Yeah, ok.

I absolutely will if someone's tailgating me and I'm driving at or above the speed limit on a two lane road. my favorite tactic is to drive really slow before a light and when it turns hello, speed up, make the light in plenty of time, and laugh my arse off.

I've seen you driving off laughing, you bastard!!!

Speaking of impatient drivers, this commercial cracks me up:

If you're in that much of a hurry to get to work maybe you should start leaving the house earlier.

I still remember a judge telling me to do that when I was 15 for going 35 in a school zone.

I really don't worry about it too much, because I know that eventually these tailgaters will meet a redneck trailer hitch with their radiator, or say hello to Mr. Light Pole.

Just get the frick away from me while you drive like a lunatic.

Going 10 under the speed limit is FAR more dangerous than going 10 over

55 is a lot safer than 75.

Someone who waits 3 or more seconds (1 Mississippi, 2 Mississippi, 3 Mississippi) after a traffic light has turned green before they actually start to move. And after finally moving, they go very slow and only a handful of people make it through the redlight when twice as many cars should have! I encountered a few of these today too.

I never really noticed this until I started commuting on my motorcycle. Its everyone dicking around on their phones at redlights that usually causes this.

If you would take the 60 seconds to read what I've actually written, you would see that if I'm in the left lane I get over to let speeders go past, and in the right lane I go about 10 over.

Sorry you can't read for shite.

WTF are you talking about? Faster?

ETA: I don't think anyone said 55 is faster than 75, they said it was safer.

I'm a minimum of 5 over at all times. And it has nothing to do with not leaving early enough. I'm usually ridiculously early to any place I'm going. I just can't stand driving slow.
