Do you like to be alone with your own thoughts?

A friend of mine was telling me they don’t like to be alone without a frivolous distraction going on such as they TV because they don’t like to be with their own thoughts. I haven’t really had this problem so I consulted with dr. google and stumbled upon This Atlantic article where a study demonstrated more people preferred to be shocked with an electric volt than be left alone with their own thoughts. I find this fascinating, so naturally I wanted to consult with the fine people of the OT. Thoughts?

I don't like humans. Outside of work, I'm alone prob 90% of the time. Moved around a lot for work and don't really have any friends. Doesn't bother me.

People find it odd when I tell them how I recently drove from Mobile to Atlanta and never made a call, received a call or turned on the radio. It was a great day.

This. Im an only child, growing up we lived outside of town so I was pretty much alone and entertained myself for the most part. I moved here 10 years ago when I got out of the military and other than work I dont know anyone in my town, the guys here all grew up together and are very clique-ish.

Sometimes I just like to be away from people- at some point people get on your nerves. Even with my wife who I love to death, but there are times I just like to be alone with my music inside or just working or chillin in the yard.

I have 3 kids. So, yeah, I enjoy being alone.
