During the day, I only leave the music on. If I leave at night to go out or for dinner, I'll leave the TV on and they seem to enjoy it. Probably watch pRon when I'm gone though.

No, my dog has full control of the remote control when I'm not home.

I leave mine on. Mine must watch it because as soon as an animal is on the screen his demeanor changes and most of the time will start barking.

We leave relaxing music on if there are fireworks outside and we're going out.
My dogs freak out at the beach for 4th of July with the fireworks. They used to be fine and even sit on the beach while we shot the fireworks. Then something happened and they now run and hide

Yes, also leave the remote strategically placed to change the channels

leaving toys out for it to chew or a pillow for it to hump will go much further to keeping it occupied while you're gone

My dog loves having the TV on just so he can hear some noises and he thinks he's not alone in dead silence.
So yes, I almost always leave the TV on for my dog when I leave the house. I'm surprised more people don't do that honestly.

No, they just sleep in their kennels while we are gone or stare outside looking for squirrels.

I do this too. And say see you after work so they know I'm not abandoning them forever.

I leave the outdoor channel on for my golden retriever. He loves to watch the birds fly across the screen.
