You don’t have servants wipe your arse with newly woven linens?

About 5 years my wife flew up after my elk hunt outside of Meeker, CO. Picked her up in Grand Junction and we booked into the historic Meeker hotel. Had some drinks and hit the room. The following morning my wife came out of the bathroom and said there was someone staring at her. Went in the bathroom and the towel had a woman’s “face” on it. Eyeliner, mascara, blush, and lipstick. Like someone put makeup on and then immediately pressed their face in into it. We checked out that morning.

I don't stay in hotels. I just buy a new condo when I need a room.

Hotel should have used the black towel that other hotels are using.

No one could makeup this story.

I don't stay in hotels where the towels have stains.

Were you already planning on leaving that day?

I pull the sheets up and check for bedbugs.

I stay in a lot of hotels and have for a long time, most of them pretty nice. I was at a legit 5 star last year for work, got to the room, unpacked, showered, was getting ready to take a nap as we'd been up all night. Pulled the covers back and there was a dark streak on the bed. I turned the light up and looked closer. It looked like someone had shat about a foot long turd and did that thing that dogs do when they're scratching their arse on the carpet. Ended up staying in the swankiest suite in the house for the remainder of the stay. It had a fully stocked bar, everything on the room service menu was comped, even had an attendant that would sit outside the room at a desk in case I needed anything. Started contemplating using that as a strategy to get nice upgrades.

The hell with the towels. Savvy travelers always check the bedbug reports first.

My Wife does a thorough bedbug check before we enter a Hotel or Condo with any of our belongings. We also keep all of our clothes in plastic totes, put all clothes in the dryer and spray everything else down with rubbing alcohol.
Yes, spending $3000.00 to get rid of the bastards will make you overly cautious.
