I’m not afraid to use my horn when someone’s driving does not suit me.
ETA: frick people who honk their horn in stand still traffic when they’re 5-6 cars back, I don’t do that shite.

Yes, if they are doing stupid things.

People who won’t turn right on red despite no signage outlawing it make me go nuts on the horn.
They’ll sometimes look back at me like they’re confused why I’m honking because the light is red. Makes me madder and my horn louder.

I'm pretty sure my driver does that. I'll ask him and get back to you.
How do you not know what your people are doing? You should pay more attention.

Driving pet peeve: when making a left turn at a light and there is an entire empty intersection between the person who has just completed the turn and the next one in line.
Move your fricking arse I don’t want to sit through another light cycle because you’re busy picking your nose.

I hate it when people honk when you don't come off a green as fast as a professional drag racer
That’s why you get a couple of seconds grace period. But if you haven’t let off the brake after 3-4 seconds it’s not because you are being cautious - it’s because you’re not fricking paying attention.
There are few things that piss me off more when driving than having to wait another light cycle because some a-hole was looking at his phone.
ETA: I’ve also been known to honk and/or yell at people who get in wrecks or break down on the Mississippi River bridge.

I typically give them a bit before I honk, but yes if they are just sitting at a green light and not moving I will honk.
ETA: This thread reminds me, my ex-girlfriend's dad used to say "toot the horn". I always thought that was effeminate.

especially when they look up just in time to race through the light before it turns red and you're stuck.

I drive in NYC so one hand is always on the horn
In NYC the honking starts immediately when the light turns green.

I do it when people change lanes without a blinker. Half the time they jerk back over really fast. I always hope they had an open beverage in their lap.

People in the southeast in general don't use their horns enough.

Yep. Just did about 10 minutes ago when this dumbass tried to cut me off. He clearly didn’t see me and swerved back over almost rear ending the truck in front of him.

Good point. I soundproofed the passenger area of my car, and I didn't think of this.

quote:A couple months ago I was getting onto the thru way by the airport in Lafayette. A young girl in a sedan was in front of me at the red light and it's a right turn only for both lanes. There's absolutely no traffic coming from our left, which has the green light and she's just sitting there. And this is a long light. I start blowing the horn and she's looking at me in her rear view mirror and I'm using my hands to point "Go!" She just continues to sit there the couple of minutes it's takes until the light turns green and finally goes.

So I get in the middle lane after the right turn and head south. We ended up side by side at the next light, and I put my passenger window down and blew my horn a couple of times. I was going to apologize and tell her I wasn't road raging, and that it's legal to turn right on red. She glanced over a me and then stared straight ahead ahead and ignored me. She must have thought I was crazy.

Let’s say they’re dicking around with something at a red light instead of going, or some other driving jackassery.
Of course I do. I like to honk at people that are looking down at their phone while driving. Scares the shite out of them. Just have to keep a little distance because half the time they instinctively swerve or slam on the breaks. Then they flip me off as I drive by. Do this at least once a day driving up and down 400 in Atlanta.

If she doesn't know about right on red, she shouldn't have a driver's license and you should have been road raging on her.

I've had to talk myself out of mounting a brick launcher on my hood several times.
My commute is 45 minutes to an hour, in Houston traffic.
I've come to loath people more than is good for my soul.
