hell no, juries are made up of unemployed losers with nothing better to do then get off on having control over someone elses life and people too frickin dumb to know how easy it is to get out of jury duty

I hear this sort of thing all the time and while I have no idea how it works in LA in the jurisdictions I practiced in unless you are subject to a statutory disqualification or exemption you won't get out of jury duty, the best you can do is postpone it since if the judge excuses you from that jury pool you will be called for the next one.

This may have been said by now but if you're innocent, you want a trial by judge. Guilty, you want a jury.
