It’s basically a simple way to get out of paying a monthly fee for a pet if you’re in an apartment.

Anyone have one of these certificates? How do you go about getting one?

I see a lot of sites offering a certificate, but not sure which one to trust.

TIA

Being in the military and having multiple deployments is the only semi-justification for having an ESA

Anything aside from that is just weak people looking for a loophole

Or just saving some money. Whatever way you want to look at it.

I have "emotional support rifes." When I'm feeling a little low, a trip to the rifle range perks me right back up.

If you view a pet as a "fee" you probably shouldn't have a non-permanent either

I'd have to imagine if you can't afford the pet fee you probably can't afford the pet.

Maybe look into finding some metaphorical spirit animal before you neglect a life more than your own.

Yeah. My trouser snake. He’s always there for me when I need stress relief.

I can afford the monthly fee. But I don’t want to spend money I don’t have to spend.

FIFY. The vast majority of people in the military, even those that deploy, are NOT in day to day harm's way. I appreciate the service but people that run around claiming PTSD and getting disability pay and therapy dogs are 100% full of shite.

Do you actually need a doctor’s note? What service are you using?

My friend got one and has literally no reason to just so he could take his lab on flights to see his girlfriend.

I think he just spent $100 and some doctor in California signed the paper

Have a friend that's a doctor and get them to write you one. Use "extreme anxiety" or something like that. And while you're there, ask for a Xanax script.

Thank you.

Gotcha. Answers the question about a doctor signing off.

A girl I was seeing has one. She has PTSD from a previous relationship (I've seen it, it's real) and the dog legitimately calms her down/brings down her heart rate. She can't sleep without him.

When she lived in an apartment, she still paid the fee. She always paid any fees that she would have been exempt from.
