Don’t watch sports. Only read the OT and Outdoor Board. This is the only place I post. Got better things to do than watch a bunch of idiots chase a ball.

You sound more high maintenance than Paris Hilton

I couldn’t care less. That being said of course I own HDTVs but at my camp I have two TVs with the big box in the back. Since I basically live out there during the fall/winter I think I actually might watch more of those than I do my regular TV.

My parents, with Cox cable, for some reason have all their channels both in HD and standard. They often watch the standard Bc “we don’t care. It all looks the same to us.”
I don’t understand it.

My parents are in town visiting for a couple weeks and rented an Airbnb. They wanted to spend time together and watch the games at their place and cook, so we went over.
The TV was hooked up via a goddamn component cable. The SEC championship looked like a rerun from 1992. We decided to leave and go eat at a bar and watch the game in HD.
I went and bought an HDMI cord for them to use for the rest of their time here.

If a game is on an OTA station I'll switch from watching it on cable in HD to antenna in HD. The picture quality is much better.

I prefer HD but the world doesn't end if it isn't.
One of the benefits of an HD channel is that non HD programming played back will look better than the same material on an SD channel. The SD channels are heavily compressed and look worse than they should.
Also two channels that I wish were in HD are MTV classic and NASA channel. Both look and sound like shite.
DVDs are a mixed bag. If they were a good xfer they look even better upconverted. Id they looked like shite they'll look worse upconverted.Example is the DVD of the movie Outland.

No. I rent movies/shows in SD because I don't gaf. I'm more interested in the quality of the story/production.

I don’t even own a flat screen. Still rocking a TV that is deeper than wide. Don’t really watch TV though. Think last time I turned it on was World Series and NBA finals

I don't even know what you are talking about so I guess it doesn't bother me.
At home I watch whatever Spectrum or Netflix or Google Play pumps into my LG TV, it all looks the same.
At other people's houses or hotels sometimes the picture isn't as clear but I don't really give a shite.
