You can't think of Louisiana as the worst state in the united states. You have to think of it as the most progressive country in the Caribbean.

Whats so sad is that’s an actual argument I’ve seen made before.

If they haven’t in generations, where even in the present blatant and on going corruption garners a “meh” from the populace, why on earth would you think it would?

Leave the Louisiana message board too. Enjoy your new state

I bet you don’t even realize the board founder and primary runner is an expat living in Houston.

I've made a good living in Louisiana in a white collar field unrelated to O&G, personal injury attorneys or plants. I guess I'm a unicorn

I've done well in the medical field.

South LA is a very strange culture of extremely hard working people.

Where are they? Where are they working? I live in south Louisiana and when i graduated from college and moved here in 1994, i was amazed at how little you had to do and still have to do to be thought of as productive.

I learned very quickly that in Louisiana, if you just MEET your job description. Not exceed, not go above and beyond but just meet very base expectations, you're a model employee. You're more than an employer could ask for.

"Extremely hard working people" in south Louisiana are extremely uncommon.

Louisiana is finished IMO. No hope for this state. This is why I’m moving to Texas as soon as I graduate college. I’ll only come back to go watch LSU, the Saints, and to visit family.

And nobody here cares. Leave the Louisiana message board too. Enjoy your new state. Tell people you are from Texas when you are on vacation and be buried in Texas when you die. And still nobody in Louisiana would care that you left or the reasons that you left..

You're a dipshit.

My friends and family call me Boston bro. It's Mr. Boston bro, sir, to you.

Also, I can't help it if someone has actually used the argument that while Louisiana is ranked last in the US, it would be the best if it were ranked against places in the Caribbean. I didn't force someone to make that terrible argument.

He comes off like a child that plugs his ears with his fingers singing "lalalala can't hear you" whenever he is told something he doesn't like.

Excellent start. I look forward to seeing the remaining legs that make up the milking stool that is your apology.

Well, that's how i see it though. I don't like it but when southern Louisiana culture centers around very easy attitudes (some would say pathologically easy) regarding drinking, drugs, partying and whatever else. A society doesn't develop a sense of industry or competitiveness. Everything is about a good time and taking it easy. It just is. This is a slow and generally lazy way of life in these parts.

South Louisianians decided a loooong time ago where and how they wanted to prioritize their lives and work ethic wasn't really included in all that.

Nope. That’s why my top 6 locations for my job that I just got offered did not include Louisiana. I love NOLA and I could see myself living there long term, but as soon as I graduate next year, I’m out. I love Louisiana and its culture with everything in me, but I can’t do the political bullshite and the small minded approach to everything.

With that said, I really do hope it turns around.

First off, quit upvoting your own posts

Secondly, your entire description could describe any place that has ever existed

Lastly, nice use of “pathologically”

First off. If i don't upvote them, who will?

Secondly. It wouldn't describe Huntsville alabama, atlanta georgia, seattle Washington or San Diego california.

Lastly. Thankyou.
