I just believe it's foolish and shortsighted to think all creation was made and all there is to it is few years on earth and then you rot.
No one knows for certain either way. I think that most ppl hope there is more after life on earth, so it becomes what they "believe" without any factual evidence.

Called faith my friend.
Basis of Christianity.

Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. Nobody comes to the father, except through me.” And to get to the Father, it’s pretty simple. You have to “confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, and you will be saved.”
Amen.

Exactly. We won’t be using that in Heaven. We’re not meant to comprehend it, just believe it. It’s going to be AWESOME

quote:You are not alone. But fear is a very human response when confronted by something we have no working frame of experiential reference for, like death and eternity. And fear does not negate the promises of God.
These are concepts that my brain is just too simple to grasp. The idea of eternity is intriguing but it does scare me.

A place where you don't die and you just live on forever. I find that concept just as difficult to grasp as the idea that we just cease existing when we die.
Eternity is not something creation is meant to understand right now. I am a believer and I think Heaven is gonna be nonstop astonishment and joy. Why? Because the creator created it for His glory.

We live to die. Just be ready. There is more to life than this earth. God sent his only son to die for our sins, so that it would not end in death for us. That we could go be with him in heaven. And if you admit you are a sinner, ask for forgiveness, and ask him to come into your heart and save you... then you have so much to look forward to when your time on this earth is done. Have a blessed day

As far as we know, the concept of eternity is purely theoretical. There is no evidence whatsoever that ANYTHING in the universe is eternal, including the universe itself. Ultimately, one day, the most likely scenario is that existence itself will cease.
So no, I don't spend much time thinking about eternity because it's pointless. Nothing is eternal.

It’s either oblivion or afterlife. We have no scientific proof for or against either. My sleepless night focus on that word Oblivion. Horrifying. Personal extinction. Inevitable.
Why?
When you're dead, you'll be the only one who doesn't know it.
The only truly horrifying concept surrounding death is the possibility of an unpleasant afterlife. Thankfully we have no reason to believe that such a thing exists.

I don't mean just your belief in afterlife as far Christianity is concerned, I'm talking in general. I know ppl who believe in reincarnation, and that has nothing to do with Christianity. People find different reasons to believe.

I generally don't spend my time fearing concepts conceived by superstitious nomads thousands of years ago.
I have as much reason to fear Hell as you do to fear Ares

I prefer not to.

I dont fear it either. That is why Jesus died. For my sins. I have accepeted him as my Lord and Savior and have zero reason to fear hell!

I like the way Randy described it:
quote:
Every thousand years
This metal sphere
Ten times the size of Jupiter
Floats just a few yards past the earth
You climb on your roof
And take a swipe at it
With a single feather
Hit it once every thousand years
'Til you've worn it down
To the size of a pea
Yeah I'd say that's a long time
But it's only half a blink
In the place you're gonna be
Posted on 1/28/18 at 11:38 am to RollTide1987
Yes, I think of eternity alot. I believe I'm going to live in complete paradise. Something that we can't even dream about. I want to be with the one who loves me more than anybody and gave his life for me. I definitely don't want to go to hell and live forever. It's basically hell living on this Earth considering how evil it is anymore. So I want to get away from this, I know that

One place. We believe that God created light. Which means he created everything in space. If that is one place, it is more than you mind can wrap around. And yes I do believe in life after death. We don't die because we are spiritual in nature. It is only our physical body that dies. Read 1st Cor. chapter 15. It is explained there nicely.
