Better question is who rounds it off to an even number?
Always

Rarely, if ever. If I am loading the boat and gas at the marina is expensive, and I just want to add a little extra maybe.

Yes, with a really slow pump, ill stop after $10 or so.
Slow pump is ususally a sign of neglected filter or something like that. No reason to risk filling up from somewhere that neglects upkeep.

This is something she should not be concerned with.
A respectable woman should not only be able and willing to fill her own tank, but also willing and able to change a flat, have the common sense to check the fluid levels on a regular basis, make it a point to get her tires rotated, and get herself out of a jam if she needs to. that's just basic responsibility, and if you drive, you need to do it for yourself.

Also, it’s funny the lengths people will go to buy the cheapest gas possible. If it’s $.03 cheaper at Racetrac you save ninety cents on a 30 gallon tank.
I don’t even look at the price unless I randomly notice. I know Diesel is less than $3 a gallon. That’s about all I know.

I was on the Wank on Saturday and I saw a guy buy $3 of gas.
He walked out to fuel his car and he left it running while he was in the store. Truly baffling behavior, but I guess that's what you can expect from a tattooed white guy in a wife beater and pajama pants

Those folks that come to a pump before you and pump like $1.56 or something... I feel bad for those people
Maybe they're just filling up a can for a weed eater

I'll do this sometimes when I know I have a decent discount amount built up on my Kroger gas card. Put in a few bucks at the gas station near my office during lunch if I'm empty then fill up when I stop at Kroger for groceries on the way home

I do that which is supposed to be bad. I can't stand uneven numbers. I'd rather leave money on the table than make it an even number.
If you're not paying with cash what the frick does it matter if it's not even? If you go over by a few cents do you then go all the way up to the next dollar and try again?

never. whats the point? Just going to have to fill up again sooner.

Got ya beat. .8, but it's back in the '70's

I always go to whole dollar amount. That way I can glance at my bill and know no one has stolen my card.

Yeah, I did it a lot in college. Not because I wanted to but rather I only had $4.12 in my cupholder and needed to go places.
THIS.
I remember it well in the mid-80s. $5.00 took me from my usual condition of near-empty and got me a quarter tank, just enough to get my gas-guzzling '72 Plymouth Fury from campus back home to Metairie.
My dorm-mate Billy would ride down with me along with his girlfriend Meg; I'd pay the gas and he'd spring for a six-pack which we drank on the way down. Good times.

Judging by this thread the criminal is probably rounding to the nearest dollar as well. Also, just because they would steal your info at the gas station doesn't mean they would buy gas once they have it. Probably highly unlikely they would so that's a weird reason to round off.

If I’m running low in North Carolina. I usually fill up enough to last me until the weekend withtypical driving. South Carolina has much cheaper gas due to taxes, and typically fill up every weekend.
