Nope, but I also work from home and my boss doesn't micromanage.
Plus I really enjoy what I do and the people I work with.
When I worked in an office doing the same thing, I counted down the hours. But I was much less busy and would some days be done no lie by like 8:15 and just sit there posting here alllll day. It's why I have so many posts.

Depends on the day and how busy I am. Plus, I don't really have set-in-stone working hours. On Friday afternoon? Absolutely.

Nope, because

yep

I don't clock watch, I can put in 12 on a machine like it's nothing. I love it.
I hate the biz part of my job and it wears on me hard.

Get a new career. You should somewhat enjoy what you do.

I count how long I have been there.
Look at the clock and think “ ok. I have been here 3 hours.”

I definitely count the days until the weekend. The hours during the week dont mean much to me. The work has to get done, doesnt really matter when as long as it gets done on schedule.

Rich or poor has nothing to do with it - you don’t work anyway 3 hours golf, 2 hour lunch, and 3 more hours at country club. Get lost.

Only if it's a slow day.

I’m usually late to work, but I make up for it by leaving early.

Nope not a fed or state employee.

Hell yea. From the moment I get there, looking at the clock...11h 45m to go
Posted on 10/29/24 at 8:21 pm to SaintlyTiger88
Depends. If we are slow I can’t wait for it to end. If we are busy and steady I have to be told it’s break or lunch time.

I don’t have enough time to look at a clock to count down the hours. I have one of those type of jobs I could work 80 hours a week and not be done. A fast pace job is ideal for me, otherwise I’d get bored. Certainly helps when you like what you do.

If I have something to do after work I will, otherwise I like my job and the time to go normally comes pretty quickly.

For the past 10 years I haven't had true hours. I get there at 7, and I leave when I don't need to be there anymore. Sometimes that's as early as 10:30 am, sometimes I'm there until 3 or 4. On rare occasions, I am there late. most days I can just decide if I want to be there or work from home after lunch. As long as I take care of business, no one cares.

I count minutes, I usually barely have time to use the bathroom. But I probably look at the clock 100 times in 12 hours

Work and your career are like everything else in life...it's cyclical.
I really like my job. I'm damn good at it. When I'm busy, time flies. When I'm not, it doesn't. Just like everyone else. But these are just day to day shifts in perspective.
Counting down the hours regularly? You're in a slump, my man. These slumps can last a few weeks, a couple months, hell, even a year or two. I've been there and I'm sure many others on this board have been there. You just kinda lose passion in your work due to any number of circumstances.
I started working from home in 2010 and, after a few years of WFH, I hit a good 1.5-2yr long drought where I was just going through the motions at work. I stepped up when needed but, for all intents and purposes, I wasn't giving 100% and was definitely clock watching. I was dissatisfied, lonely (WFH), handling work while also handling all the kids' school shite (oh, Dad's home all day, he can handle it!), frustrated by lack of promotion/advancement, you name it. I just wasn't feeling it.
That shite broke though....came out the other side reinvigorated, refocused, and ready to get back to kicking some arse. I still have shorter periods (maybe a couple weeks) when I just don't feel invested like I should, but I'm old enough to recognize when they hit. I don't wallow, just accept I need to change things up a little bit to get out of an apparent grind.
All that to say, don't throw the baby out with the bathwater. We aren't machines. GIve yourself time to think about why you're unhappy to determine if it's a phase or you've reached a dead end.
