Why not? It’s been proven plants feel and are aware. Animals are obviously the same. So why not the natural source.

It's a rock mass that's in the perfect place in a solar system that allows a temperature reasonable enough to support living organisms. The earth itself does not decide what happens to it but the factors around it do.

Some "supernatural" connection between living things and a big hunk of metal and minerals being sentient are 2 very different things. Surely if the Earth were conscious she'd have ordered up another global flood to knock us down a few pegs by now, no?
