My position could 100% be done at home and the Covid lock down proved it. But no, big boss wants everyone at work 8 am sharp while he's barely there.

And there's a great display of lack of customer awareness. Reboot everyone's crap at night is great, if everyone is in an office.

You have to know they weren't just going to bounce the non-essential (to anyone that isn't working the helpdesk number that patients get anyway) networks, they're going to accidentally group something IOT or otherwise operational on "accident." Did you check the list of in scope devices? No, they gave me the list.

This is 100% on you bud.. You need to do a better job of hiring.. ‘Folks’ act in many different ways, but you are apparently doing a piss poor job of hiring and/or leading these ‘folks .’

I'm not really understanding all this but what I did from home would not have been more or less effective if I were in my designated cubicle in Atlanta, to the point of the OP.

I was bitching about people (regardless of work location), particularly contractors of certain companies, largely based in SE Asia, doing zero quality control, and having zero curiosity about what they are tasked with doing.

You told me to hit the switch, I knew it would light the flight line on fire, but you told me to hit the switch. Certain cultures are heavy in that. I can deal with dumb, because dumb can be taught.

That level of stupidity exists, and that's a simplified version of what I was trying to get across. Reboot stuff in the middle of the night, when your one tech support dude at the hospital is on call at home? Great idea, when all the nurses start getting alarms.

Welcome to the new world of productivity for those that can.

You aren't invited, sorry bout that.
