But look up Stewart Air Force Base. Privately owned air force strip that was bought out by Ronald Lauder not too long before 9/11. The flight paths of the planes who hit the towards both converged over this air strip. I think the planes were landed and swapped for a remote controlled drone.

I don't think the average American understands how much dirt our government does around the world with virtually zero oversight from Congress or the President. Some people laugh when folks bring up the Deep State, but it is amazing how so much power is in the hands of so few people, and how said people's livelihoods are dependent on fear, war and mass surveillance.
Given that, and the links between Mossad and the political class within Saudi Arabia, nothing would shock me about when and what our government knew about a pending attack.
