I do. It's important for a simple potato salad, too. Potatoes, mayo, salt, pepper, eggs and a little creole mustard. No crunchy stuff.

I don't just dump it on, but I do enjoy them together and in the same bite. I mete out what I need usually to compensate for the previous bite.

Yes. Grew up in north La., and my family has always had potato salad with gumbo, with a scoop added to the bowl. Not many others around here do. My parents picked it up when living in Abbeville and Ville Platte.
