Do some people think that US speed limit signs are in KPH?

Are speed limit signs on the Interstate supposed to be in KPH? That's the only reason I can figure someone going 50mph in a 70 zone.
It's an understandable mistake though if someone from another country thinks that. There aren't any units of measure on speed limit signs. Maybe they really think it's supposed to be 70KPH and just think we're all idiots for hauling arse.

Greatest sign on the Autobahn when I was there. The end of all limits sign, including speed limits. Got passed many times by Porsches and the such like I wasn't moving when I was going 105mph.

I'm sure they aren't giving out many speeding tickets on the Autobahn; but am I correct in assuming that there are only a few small stretches where that sign exists?
I was always under the impression the majority of the autobahn maxed out at 80mph

They do let retarded people drive.
Once you accept that the experience changes in two very important ways.
1. You maintain calm and balance when they drive like stupid people.
2. Your defensive driving morphs to stop expecting safe sane drivers on road with you. accept the bell curve of driving IQ.
3. Yes u still say "jesus frick" sometimes. The extent of it never really stops being awful.
Once you accept that the experience changes in two very important ways.

No, it has a speed limit near and in cities. But once you get out on the open road the limits go away. Most people go 80-100mph. But you get a few that max out their cars. And don't cruise in the left lane. You might get a Mercedes up your butt before you know it.
