With interest rates rising and the flood bubble ending we are about to see who the real realtors are in BR Area.
We need a good purge. It’s coming. In 2009 I made 16k and was in top half of the agents at my brokerage.
I’m working with 2nd generation clients right now. So I’m skilled at building a book of business and retaining it for generations.

The girls I know who do it are rich girls
The people who do make money work extremely hard, and usually employ a staff of at least 5 people to help

People think it's easy to do but you really have to work it to make a living selling real estate. It's a lot of weekend time as well.

This is what I've always thought.....with that being said...I've thought about it a few times as a side gig. Even selling 2-3 decent size houses a year you make about 20-30k.

If you truly had skills, you would have picked up on this sooner and you too could have an easy job making bank.

One of my friends has done it in Jefferson Parish for about 15 years and is very good at it as she is always one of the top agents.
She had another career before, but got burnt out. Awesome person and a hard worker and knows to not spam or agrrevate people into using her services

You spelled 'sales' wrong.

Realtors do have a skill, hard work and hustle. If you worked as hard as me you could drive a new Lexus every two years like me but I bet your pee brain would of failed the real estate test

Seems like you have never has the displeasure of working in sales. That shite is tough and you absolutely need excellent people and sales skills. When it comes to real estate if you want to be worth a damn you really need to know your shite when it comes to what kind of house it is, what the neighborhood is like, what it's built from, what is worth your clients time, what you need to look for when it comes to repairs... It's not easy work.

Define skills? College degree? Knowledgeable and handy with tools?
How are realtors, brokers, and developers different than people in a plant, on a construction site, in sales, retail, hospitality?
I would guess by the people I know that more than half of people in real estate have college degrees and most have some college.
Donald Trump was in real estate before tv and becoming president.
On my list of things I don’t understand is the OT hatred for realtors, but the OP is also including brokers, mortgage people, and developers in there as well.

We as a society will hopefully put them all out of work soon.

Wouldn’t brush that kind of board stroke on all of them but anything that is as easy to obtain as a realtor license is going to attract a bunch of people doing it so that they can tell people they have a career
When I worked in the bar like 80 percent of the girls I would work with would either have their realtor license, in the process of getting it, or would tell everyone they were going to get it soon and quit

All true. I've gone out with my share of waitresses, strippers, bartenders, wannabe models, some actual swimsuit models, etc. Seems all of the have, are working on, or plan to get a realtors liscense.
I actually worked for some banks doing mortgages for a few years over a decade ago. The work itself was super easy. I mean a loan application was a couple of pages of basic info, you ran a few numbers (lil basic math on a calculator),ran it through automated underwriting (which basically meant you pressed submit once you entered the loan app info) and got your answer. The automated underwriting pulled credit you then gave a standard list of docs needed to close like W-2, paystub, downpayment verification, etc. The whole process was about 20-30 minutes, then you spend maybe another 30 minutes total to just check on the process of the loan with the processor and underwriter (ask them if they got the docs, ordered appraisal, etc).
That was about it on most loans. Very easy basic stuff, about 1 hour of combined continuous work, rarely more than 2 on each loan. And I think about 800 was the least I ever made on a loan and about 7k the most.
Worked when I wanted if I wanted. It was easy work. Course since I didnt really like going out selling, I never made a lot. But it was very easy work that didnt require much to do the job. Except the sales part.

I think the OP is confusing skills with the low barrier to enter the profession. Any realtor who makes a decent living has sales skills as well as some marketing and even advertising skills. (Although it seems like the really nice multi million dollar homes pretty much sell themselves).
However, there is undeniably a low barrier to get the license and start a career. It's a fairly easy test. And you don't have to go to three or four years of graduate school.

How much does a normal real estate agent make. There are so many of them

My soon to be ex wife has zero tangible work skills and his presently pursuing her real-estate license. With the fake tits I paid for.
