My dad went to college in that era.

Fun fact: freshmen got hazed whether they were Greek or not.

Yep. At LSU of that era, every male had to be in ROTC and that came with its own brand of hazing. I have my dad’s beanie they gave him to wear - made him wear in think - after they shaved his head. Same year Blueridge started.

IIRC they had to wear a beanie until the first football game. Or maybe it was homecoming. Some of it was mild, like having to wear pajamas to a football game. Some of it was rougher, like running a gauntlet on the football field. He said they were a lot of Korean War vets in the student body and they could get pretty intense.

People are paying up to $15,000 to have their daughters dorm room professionally decorated. Lord help the poor bastard that marries that "princess"!

Thats ridiculous for certain but I wouldn't bet against one of those girls. We have some friends who spent about $30K on their daughters 16th birthday party....not gifts but the party. My wife and I were both convinced that young lady would be some kind of prima donna. She is now a full time Physicians Assistant who also volunteers about 40 hours a week working in a non-profit emergency medical facility in a pretty shitty neighborhood in San Antonio. She is married to an Engineer from ATM and they are perfectly normal and what anyone would call "good people".

Dorm room decorators and fraternity consultants, but I’m supposed to believe people can’t afford eggs and milk?

I would posit that people with legitimate concerns about their ability to afford eggs and milk probably ain't ever heard of a fraternity, let alone a fraternity consultant. People who would pay a fraternity consultant probably spend a lot of time bitching about taxes and the price of milk and eggs but not being able to pay for any of the three is not a real threat to them....

This is just an extension of (dropshipping) course culture. I should make a course on how to get bids.

Some girls will actually fricking transfer schools if they don’t get into the sorority that all their friends got into, though I believe that was more an Ole Miss thing where an insane amount of campus life was Greek.

This is actually a problem at Bama too. I've heard too many stories about girls that didn't get into the sorority they wanted and transferred out to a local college close to where they were from. I didn't watch the HBO documentary on Bama rush but I heard that all the girls featured in that have all transferred out.

Seems like a solid way to get hazed twice as hard imo.

He either has "good Bullsh**" or he doesn't. That is all that will help.

That's the least Frat-tastik thing I have ever heard. All my Brothers who drank themselves to death for freedom and trim and the American way back in the 80's must be rolling in their graves.
