I'm watching an improv show now. I feel like 75% of the people here don't apppreciate what these guys are doing. The long form was great.

must be shitty if you're posting while watching

Not really into improv. I've seen some funny stuff but most of the time it's just awkward.

No, people are too busy trying to hear if something offensive will be said.

The problem is most improv performers can’t execute the comedy portion of the show.

Improv is hit or miss.
The problem is 80% of the time it is a miss. Who has time for all that vetting?

I don't think it's a miss that much. I think people just don't get it. 75% of the people here def can't appreciate the comedy/skill involved in the long form.

I don't think I've ever seen a more polarizing show than "Whose Line Is It, Anyway?". I was at a gathering at someone's house years ago when the show was fairly popular and it was on the TV. Out of a group of about 20 people, half of the people were watching and laughing hysterically and the other half were looking at them like "WTF is so funny?". Count me among the latter. I hated that fricking show and find what they were doing very un-funny.

We call people like you “philistines”.
Being able to crank out content like that at a moment’s notice is a gift

Comedy is subjective...
Depends on your audience.... I did stand up, toughest gig ever... One bit would totally kill in one place and bomb in another..

I love those guys. It's hilarious when they open the trunk and pull out those random items.

I agree, I don’t get it. Ok?

Had my first beginners improv class this past Monday. I think I’m gonna continue to enjoy it! I really appreciate the people who can be creative and think on the fly, not always gonna be 100% hilarious, but the ability to work with a partner and group and create a scene is cool!
