Whenever I go watch my nephew play t-ball, soccer, flag football, whatever.. Half, if not more, of the mothers are taking pictures. Not just one picture at a certain point, but its like they are all waiting for anything to take a picture of their kid doing.

A few weekends ago, there was a kid who was playing soccer and during the game his mother yets "hey ___________ smile!". These are 5 & 6 year olds, but is it common for parents to go overboard with this shite? It seems like they don't really enjoy the moment because they are too busy trying to take pictures of the moment.

I refuse to read that whole mess but I'm assuming it could be summed up in three words or less?

Yes, absolutely. How many pictures do you need?

My sister has THOUSANDS of pictures of my nieces (7 and 8). So many that she complains about storing them. You don't need 300 pics from Easter every damn year. I believe it becomes a compulsion .

When I was a kid, family pictures were limited to the yearly trip to the back of the IGA where a photographer took them.

Thanks for a reply that actually refers to the topic. Yeah, that's another thing. You can't just store all those pictures in the air. I forgot where it was, I don't think it was even at a sporting event, but I remember hearing one mom say to another one "well, I guess I am going to have to go through all the pictures to see which ones I can delete to make space".

I bet they don't look at half of those pictures again, after they take them.

Yes. They don't actually watch their kid; they just document that they were there.

You ever watch a kids sporting event, play, musical recital? They're boring as frick, I wouldn't blame anyone for not watching that.

They definitely go overboard when I take pictures of their kid. You'd think I was some sort of deviant with the way they react...

Why do they think all of their Facebook friends want to see it?

If people keeping hitting that like button then they'll keep posting. Supply and demand I suppose.

But the real thing we should be discussing is: why is there a thread pleading with parents to pay less attention to their kids? Aren't you getting a frustrated child abductor feel from this?

I wish I had more pics from when I was a kid.

Some of yall focus on some weird things to complain about.
