I took Norcos once and it made me so nauseous I can't even remember if I felt itchy.

All opiates make you itch. People on really strong ones like Oxycontin or Heroin will itch constantly.

I always thought if was that opiates cause histamine release from mast cells and that was the reason behind itching. My impression is that the closer a compound is chemically to morphine, the more pronounced the effect.

one of the last things I remember prior to emergency surgery was telling my wife how itchy I was. Was on morphine for three days after as well, but too out of it to remember itching.

No they don't dumb arse unless you have a propensity to addiction & probably suffer from bi polar issues. There are millions of people who have taken pain meds & are not addicts. Do the math genius look at the number of narcotics perscribed yearly & the number of addicts we have.
You will not die from pain so you can just suffer through it if you like.

I would rather be in pain than suffer through the itching that comes with hydrocodone. It feels like ants crawling all over me. I hate it.

Yup! I am not a fricking medical doctor so I would never tell anyone else to do this but NOTHING knocks out the symptoms you get from the flu like a few vicodin or percocet. The reason is it pulls the water out of your intestine so right away the shitting goes away, so does the nausea/puking and they also give you a big burst of energy. You will feel SO MUCH BETTER but of course that doesn't mean you are better which is why I don't think docs ever prescribed them for flu, you would just get up and go to work not recovering while spreading the virus. Still though if I ever get the flu again I will find a couple rather than suffer, I will just make sure I stay in bed and hydrate for days like I would have if I felt shitty.

You are spot on SonBae

I remember back in the day when I was gettjbgf 180 Lorcette 10/750's per month and caught the flu. I was bed ridden and couldn't go to work dorna couple days, but every so many hours over the course of it, i would pop a few w/ some Gatorade and it would knock out my fever like that and make me sooo much more comfortable and able to get a couple house sleep, until the next wave would hit and I'd do it again.

Seriously the Opiates and tylonal coupled with Gatorade and protein bars with demolish the flu!!
