$800 is too expensive of a gift though. My mom was asking…guess we can do Best Buy gift cards or something.

hell nah they have to have a laptop or desktop at minimum. too many papers to write. everything online.

Well, you can always go with another brand/model. I have an Acer that I use for work (I also do telehealth sessions) and cart around.
Have them give him cash towards it instead, that way he's not limited to Best Buy.

My daughter started using an iPad with Apple Pencil for notes and homework and it helped a lot

a tablet/pc is a great combination.
With a tablet you are able to take notes directly on the power point slides, highlight, etc. and it all syncs together with the PC.

I got my daughter a Lenovo Yoga tablet. It was on sale and students usually get a discount. I think it was under 800 out the door.

Did this last year before mine left… ipad and keyboard/mouse has worked perfectly for her. Added the pencil and she takes notes with an app. Plus it doubles as her tv on a stand. Best investment we made for her.
Edit: she has a laptop… never used it. It’s back home… said most of her friends have also moved to iPad/keyboard.

No. iPads are more for consuming not creating content.
