I've known plenty of intelligent with tats, sometimes too many.

I don't have any because I have a fear of commitment.

It probably doesn't come across at all (why would it?), but I have a terribly thick accent. Foghorn Leghorn meets John Wayne, according to friends.

But that's kind of the norm in Bama, isn't it. The have a sow dialect, so that may be why many think they are less than intelligent. The learned accent supersedes the brain's want to efficiently broadcast information.

I read a study about this a few years back. The facial muscles, especially around the eyes, change based on how much/hard you think.

Not sure if this is the same as what I was remembering LINK

Depends on where you're from. Most folks under 40 from metro areas that I have known, and this goes beyond Alabama and extends to the rest of the South, have a decidedly neutral, bland dialect to my ears.

There is also a discernible difference in class based on someone's speech - Jimbo from a blue-collar family in Ardmore sounds much different than Winston from 'old-stock' Andalusia.

Yes they do. If I were to pick 10 smart people and 10 dumb people in 100, the difference in IQ average would be at least 15.

It's not full proof, but in general it is the case.
